This article will cover a follower I saw a lot of potential in, but haven't seen much. Battul is a 6 gold, 4 force unique follower. It has a focus of 4, nice, and the Yobanjin trait, for those that like to go Gaijin.

It also has a 0 honour requirement, allowing it to be attached to anyone's personality, even the Shdaowlands and dishonoured ones.

Battul has no abilities, but has a very nice little trait. While he is in an army, no player may target cards in Battul's army may be targeted by actions requiring the Favour be discarded, or by actions on Winds.

Mostly this is nice, but it also stops you from stopping his own unit from being sent home with the Right hand. He is nice with Gozoku Sensei, as it is a Sensei, and not a Wind. It does not prevent actions like that from being used, they simply may not be used on cards in his army.

Because it is a trait, it is constantly on, so it does not matter if Battul becomes bowed. He still affects the battle. The only way to stop him is to send him home.

With the Wind change going into Lotus, I have not gotten in enough practice to know how powerful his trait will end up being. However, it does stop the Black Heart, which becomes quite powerful.

And the 4 force for 6 gold is very nice as well. I am trying him in my Mantis Raid deck right now. Not sure he will stay in, but it is a nice card for that.

Not sure how powerful this card will end up being, but it is one to keep an eye on.
