Aikune's story is a long and complex one. The full details can be found elsewhere on the site, but I'll repeat a summary here. Aikune is the son of the last true Phoenix Champion, Shiba Tsukune. In his youth he was full of the urge to prove himself as a hero in his own right, and escape from his mother's shadow. In the war against the Dragon, this led him to take up Isawa's Last Wish, and attempt to master its power.

Eventually he withdrew from the world, realising that he was too much of a danger to those around him. He returned, briefly, to save Gisei Toshi from the Bloodspeaker Iuchiban's attack, but learnt then that Iuchiban wished to get his hands on the Wish. Not willing to let that happen, Aikune has retreated from the eyes of the world once more.

One of the many personalities vying for the role of "the true Phoenix Champion" Aikune is certainly a very solid personality. Fitting very nicely into a Switch deck, he can potentially take provinces on his own if you have enough shugenja hanging around at home. But that's not all he can do: he also makes a great duellist, with his chi restricted only by the number of Shugenja you have in play (you're allowed to, say, give him -10/+10) and the ability to gain double chi. Slap a Kenshinzen on him, and go to town.

As an Experienced personality, he's fetchable with Boundless Sight. The Samurai trait and a reasonable GC make him very affordable, while 3ph is not bad at all. 10HR is a bit of a drawback, and makes it harder to play him in a straight military deck - but it is his only drawback. An extremely solid personality who should be considered by almost any Phoenix deck.
