The Phoenix Clan Phoenix, Ryouko is a creature of the Celestial Heavens. More information on such creatures can be found in the Fortunes and Winds sourcebook.
Ryouko2F, 3C8HR, 8GC, 3PH Phoenix Clan Nonhuman Shugenja*Cavalry*Emissary of Tengoku Ryouko may not attach Spells. Battle: Make a Ranged 2 Attack without bowing. When Ryouko is destroyed, you may permanently raise its Honor Requirement by 5 and place it on top of your deck. 2/3 with 3ph for 8G isn't very impressive - but a ranged attack without bowing, Cavalry, and a refusal to die combine to make Ryouko a useful personality. However, it only sees play off City of Rememberance, where for 6G it becomes a stupidly good Personality. Still, Ryouko is worth considering for MGC decks as well (its no-spells restriction makes it less useful in Kyuden Agasha!) where its ability to return from the dead synergises very well with the stronghold and the explosive actions often used there. It also provides Cavalry defense - or offense, with Strategic Crossroads to bring the rest of your army in. |
