Asako Soun is (or maybe was) one of Shiba Tsukimi's unit, among the forces who guard the lands of the Phoenix. His unit was dispatched to Gisei Toshi by Shiba Ningen, the Master of Void, to help repel Iuchiban's attack. With some mysterious assistance, the unit was able to ambush the Bloodspeaker army's command group, and defeat the accomplished Akodo Tadenori, a great Lion general who fell to the Rain of Blood.
Asako Soun2F, 4C6HR, 7GC, 2PH Phoenix Clan Shugenja*Inquisitor Limited: Bow Soun to reduce the Honor Requirement of a Shugenja in one of your Provinces by 5. Gah. Asako Soun is missing one thing from making him a solid personality - a low or dash honour requirement. With an HR of 0 or -, he would be a useful shugenja for providing protection from dishonour decks. As it is, he is clearly designed to help City of Rememberance decks bring out Elemental Dragons more easily - especially since out of the City, he doesn't have to bow to use his ability (though he still can't use it if he's bowed). However, at 2F for 7G and no military ability that's really all he does for a CoR military deck. If he was cheaper, or had more Force, or a military ability (such as a ranged attack), he would be a nice compliment to a CoR deck. As things stand, he's only really worth playing if you run 5 or more dragons - and the vulnerability of that deck to any sort of dishonour isn't really helped by Soun, since any deck that can dishonour you can also kill your personalities, and because Soun himself has such a risky honour requirement. |
