| There's a pretty clear theme to this deck. Cheap personalities with decent personal honour and a Fate deck full of actions. |
| As the first Phoenix diamond deck I'd put together, I decided to build something simple. Very few attachable cards, and no intention of attacking,
allow me to play Occult Murders as a free way to thin the ranks of an attacker as well as setting me up for a nice honour gain by recycling my person - in a
game against another honour runner, my big advantage is my ability to recycle my personalities, so Occult Murders gives me a chance to do that and speed up my mid game
honour gains. |
| One set of Fate cards deserve special attention. Why play Bane of the Bastard, since I'm not playing Kaneka myself? The rationale here is that every military
deck WILL be running Kaneka, and that if they aren't the added efficiency of my Wind will more than make up for 3 wasted fate slots. Against an honour runner,
I simply have a 4FV card to throw to a duel or something. Given the vast prevalence of Kaneka-supporting military decks, Bane of the Bastard seems a strong card. |
| This deck has had a good deal of success, placing 3rd in the only tourney I've taken it to and going unbeaten in the Swiss rounds. The losses have mainly been
to really bad draws. A solid and easy deck to play - simply treat all personalities as expendable and strive to keep your provinces alive! |
